The Graduate Program in Agricultural Microbiology of UFV started in 1970, and is evaluated with grade 6 (six) by CAPES, one of the scores “unique to programs that offer doctorate with a level of excellence, equivalent performance to the most important educational and research centers, high level of international integration, great ability to nucleate new research and teaching groups and whose faculty play leading and representation role in their community. “

In the Master’s, the aspiration to obtain graduate training is served in a number of courses in which deepen the knowledge on the basis of science, and also the opportunity of familiarization with the scientific method.

In the Doctorate, the proposition is to form leaders in science, with a comprehensive and profound vision of reality in the area of expertise, able to anticipate trends and influence the course of science and its technological applications.

It is oriented so that the student can develop attitudes of appreciation of interdisciplinary and team work. Thus, intellectual independence and familiarity with literature in Microbiology, as well as the ability to communicate in text and orally, the results and conclusions of the research are requirements demanded of the student body to complete the courses.
