Léa Medeiros, a journalist from UFV’s Directorate of Institutional Communication, is speaking this Wednesday, April 12, to students and professors from the Graduate Program in Agricultural Microbiology. Specializing in scientific communication, she will present the topic “Science Communication – we need to talk about it!”, at 4pm, in the Bioagro Auditorium.

Léa has a degree from UFJF and a master’s degree from UFV. She was a substitute teacher on the communication course at UFV and at the Faculdade de Viçosa. She has worked as a telejournalist, producer and director of science programs on TV Viçosa and Rádio Universitária FM. She is currently press officer for the Brazilian Society of Soil Science and a member of Fapemig’s Minas Gerais Science Communication Network. In 2001, she won the Francisco de Assis Magalhães Gomes Medal (Fapemig), in the Science Communication category.
